So far I think that our group has really progressed in terms of what we filmed, how many shots we have and how far we've come in editing. My version of the shot list and storyboard really waver from this actual edit right now, and I think that we can improve by adding a lot more shots in between the lip-syncs than there are right now; the song is slow, however I think Matt and Jorman should edit more realisticly when they are editing compared to an actual music video, which's clips last at most 3-4 seconds, with the exception of Wretch 32s Don't Go, which has a long intro and a lot of instrumentals in between the lyrics, therefore can afford to have long clips that last around 10 seconds each. Our video, despite its lyrics, is actually very fast paced, and there is a lot of rapping and potential clip cutting throughout. Saying this, I am confident that our video will get better and when we film on Friday, we will definitely have more footage to work with
Despite all this, I really like the way our music video is heading. I like the idea of the microphone prop used above, showing the artists' love for music. I'm looking forward to seeing how the green screen shots of the artists falling will look, because in Kendrick Lamar's
Swimming Pools, this effect of falling in a black hole/space, to me, is what brings the video to life and makes it stand out from other music videos. I think it's the one thing in our music video people will remember and appreciate overall because of its artistic element.
